it was only after staring at this, after however many hours of agonizing during it’s construction, did i realize was this was the tellus collage. this is everything.

during the making of this collage and all previous and honestly before i even decided to collage, space had been very important to me. in the physical, mental, and astrological sense. but collaging made it more apparent. nothing is empty. we are all just cutting space. a la carl andre. but the lack of space, as any human knows can cause something to be extremely claustrophobic. before this collage came to me, i knew it was going to be void of any space between the images. i wanted it to appear as one entity. the smallest sliver of space can cause division. i wanted unity. that is partially what this collage is, and what are all my collages are. studies of space. both space on the pad and the space in such images can take up in our minds.
