i could not stop watching videos on the mesoamerican/ south american in the.. month? or so before the creation of this. i wonder why i am so infatuted with the culture. i feel it is one of two reasons, i am genuinely interested in the beliefs, lifestyle and history of the hundreds of pre columbian cultures and because of what came after them, ie us.
fun fact: the head u see next to the eponymous statue, to the right, is a moche head. the moche were a people(s) in peru, around the 12th century i think? they were excellent at pottery! including a bunch of pottery with sexual imagery. its unsure whether it was for fun, humor, pleasure, ritual or all of the above.
rarely do i purposefully save a collage element for later but i intentionally waited to use saturn eating his child.
